Support Export to Older DXF Versions

Description:
We’ve had reports from customers using CNC machines and controllers (e.g., RichAuto A11, Hartmuth Penta-tec with PentaNC V2 Revision 4) that cannot read MaxCut’s current DXF export format (AutoCAD 2000, AC1015).

Some CNC controllers only support older DXF versions such as AC1009 (R12). Currently, these customers must convert the DXF files through a third-party tool (e.g., Adobe Illustrator) before importing them into their machines, which adds unnecessary complexity and risk of errors.

Customer Impact:

  • One customer using RichAuto A11 CNC controllers, require AC1009 DXF export.
  • Another customer with older PentaNC software versions had issues importing MaxCut DXFs until they upgraded. This suggests wider compatibility issues for users who cannot upgrade their machine software.
  • Without support for older DXF versions, these customers cannot use MaxCut in their production workflow.

Requested Feature:
Add the ability in MaxCut to export DXF files in older formats, specifically starting with AC1009 (R12). Ideally, provide an option for the user to select the DXF version they need when exporting.

Additional Notes:

  • Current MaxCut DXF export is AC1015 (AutoCAD 2000/2000i/2002).
  • AC1009 (R12) would cover many older CNC controllers.
  • Providing multiple version options (e.g., AC1009, AC1015, AC1018) would improve compatibility across a wider range of machines.
